Event Description

Component 1:- The Activator role

AM- 3 hours

Activator role- This component aims to develop the activator’s understanding of their role and responsibilities. This component is designed to ensure duty of care through safe and equitable practice in the organisation and facilitation of active leisure activity sessions.

 

 

Component 2:- Activate through Dance

PM- 3 hours

Activate through dance- This component aims to develop the activators ability to plan, facilitate and reflect on activities using a dance theme.

Designed and developed for Premier Education Group in association with 1st4sport, this component within the qualification is designed to prepare learners for deployment as an activator in dance.

This component aims to develop the learner’s knowledge of the range of activities which can be delivered in the context of dance, with a focus on the elements. Learners are required to participate in activities derived from the elements of dance.

Successful achievement of the qualification will enable activators in dance to;

  • facilitate extra-curricular activities in schools and community participation programmes
  • understand the fundamentals of planning, facilitating and reflecting on activities using a dance theme
  • understand how to develop participants through dance activities
  • be able to assist in the delivery of dance based activity sessions
  • become qualified to support children’s successful participation in dance
  • develop understanding of supporting learning through dance and practical activities
  • develop dance knowledge and skills that can be applied to different educational and school related settings
  • select a pathway to a career as a dance teacher
  • select a pathway for other opportunities to work within education and dance
  • learn how to design, deliver and adapt dance based activity sessions for a range of ages
  • make a positive impact on the children they’re working with by developing confidence, performance skills and team work through dance related skills and activities
  • help children engage with the fundamentals of dance in a fun imaginative way
  • make dance more enjoyable for children and young people…..and much more!
