Dewsbury – 1st4sport Level 1 Award in Coaching Skateboard Sessions

The Level 1 Award in Coaching Skateboard Sessions is the first Qualification of its kind in the UK, written by Ask8 Safe and 1^st4sport, and in partnership with the new National Governing Body, Skateboard England.

The course aims to provide vital credibility for Skateboard Coaches, legitimising their practices and placing them on an equal playing field with other professionals, which is vital when delivering sessions in external organisations such as schools or youth clubs.

After this two day (17 hour) course, successful learners will be able to deliver their own beginner’s skateboarding Sessions independently. Key learning objectives include:

• Principles of safe practise
• Your role as a skateboard coach
• Codes of conduct in Skateboard England
• To planning engaging skateboard coaching sessions
• Basic sports coach techniques
• All technical aspects of coaching beginner’s skateboarding sessions

All candidates must be aged 17 or over, hold a current and Relevant Safeguarding Certificate, and be able to push, turn and stop confidently on a skateboard.
