Course Overview
This full-day training session will enable school leaders to shape their self-evaluation summary to clearly identify where the school is at and identify the main improvement priorities. This will be undertaken utilising simple processes for whole-school and departmental self-evaluation writing.
Course Duration
This one-day tutor led training course is held at a quality hotel (minimum 3*). It provides excellent networking opportunities and includes refreshments and lunch.
9:00am arrival for 9:30am start with a 4:00pm close.
Who is the course suitable for?
Secondary and primary experienced and new leaders, headteachers, deputy and assistant headteachers, heads of department/faculties and subject leaders and those wanting to contribute to school improvement.
Outcomes
- Confidence in using tools to support a high quality and systematic approach to writing an effective summary self-evaluation document
- Confidence in using the process to inform whole school the departmental improvement using the ‘so what?’ principle of establishing cause and effect
- To have completed writing at least one section of your own SEF
- To have developed a succinct summary of your school’s key strengths and areas for improvement moving towards (or securing) outstanding
- To establish clarity of thought and clear milestones to help inform whole-school strategic development planning
- To have created a document that is in a user-friendly style for your next Ofsted inspection
