Transcend Level 2 Award for Holiday Club Activity Coaches in Multi-Sports
Qualification Aim: The aim of the qualification is to develop each learner’s ability to coach safe and engaging multi-sports sessions in the holiday club environment.
Qualification Objective: The objective of the qualification is to provide a benefit to learners by supporting a paid role as a multi-sports coach in the holiday club environment. Whilst attending the qualification learners will develop the knowledge and skills required to be able to: • fulfil duties of a holiday club activity coach • drive engagement as a holiday club activity coach • meet the deployment expectations of a holiday club activity coach multi-sports
Qualification Rationale: The rationale for the development, delivery and awarding of this qualification is to support the ongoing professionalisation of the industry workforce in coaching. This qualification enables the deployment of competent activity coaches in the holiday club environment able to deliver safe multi-sports sessions to children. The qualification is designed to drive behaviour change associated with child engagement and participation in physical activity. The rationale is underpinned by market impact analysis and applied research which confirms the need and associated demand for the qualification, its objective and the benefits for learners. Comparability tests clearly confirm the uniqueness of the structure of this qualification and associated assessment strategy which prioritises the learner, participants, industry employers as the key stakeholders.
